Today, there are so many things that connect us. Whether it be place of birth, business or occupation, religious faith or triumph and tragedy. I don't think there are many lives who have not been touched in some way or another by others who have been affected by cancer. Both of my parents died at the young age of 57 from cancer. My dad first then four years later my mother. My Aunt battled cancer for many years - way beyond her doctor's expectations. She said only God knew when it would be her time to die. She, while battling cancer, (in her late 60's) went to centers to encourage children and teens who also faced cancer.
I became acquainted with Donna Eubanks Dunnam a couple years back through our daughter's friendship. At our first meeting she was home from one of her many trips out of state for cancer treatment that would take her away from her family for months at a time. She was grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for her son's birthday. I found her to be a very sweet, Christian lady. She demonstrated a courage that marvels me today. She has since gone back and forth to treatment facing terrible pain and discomfort. All the while encouraging others, as my aunt did.
Donna is one of the women who contributed to a book just released,

Bless You Sister, I'll be Praying for You.
(so cool to see pink in the book cover artwork)

This is a heartwarming book about mothers, daughters, aunts and sisters - survivors of cancer. You can find out more information here and here .

Today we are celebrating with Beverly - How Sweet The Sound - Pink Saturday  and Kelee at Katillac Shack for a Miracle Party . Go here to be inspired and to comment. Each comment will result in a donation to a very worthy cause. I have seen some wonderful things done by caring and sharing women through blogging - this I think will be one of those events we will recall with a smile and a glint in our eyes.
For each comment to these participating sites - Pink Saturday and Katillac Shack as well as Spiritual Sunday and Country Wings In Phoenix a $1 donation will be given! This will be a wonderful-giving way to spend your Saturday!

I hope you all have a very blessed and Delightsome weekend - I thank God for you! What a blessing to be part of such a wonderful community.

Kathy
