THIS GOLDEN TIME
“If summer is a symphony, September is a Minuet.
There is a delicacy as the first leaf falls gracefully from a tree;
There is a quetude in our spirits as twilight descends ever so much
Earlier. We recall how lovely it was to walk in late afternoon, the
First time we needed a sweater. And we gather in during this golden
time to our private places, and to our intimate thoughts."
Victoria 1997
While taking a moment to look through the
September issues of Victoria, I was struck by this
quote and the collection of photos chosen.
There is something about this time of year, like
The twilight of the evening. An in-between time
Where we can:
Press memories in our mind
Bring to home & heart enchantment
Preserve what is dear
Savor the waning summer and coming Autumn
Take a moment to retreat, reflect and revive
Treasuring that moments in the past are
Memories that feel like the day before yesterday.

There’s only thee

So closer would my feeling twine
