So The Girls and I took a roadtrip this weekend and it was so much fun. First of all, this was the first trip that I did solo - meaning that The Husband did not travel with me. We did great! The girls were such sports and I was armed and ready with all sorts of movies. We made it eight hours and only had to stop twice each way, once for food & gas, once to go potty. JP - you would have been so proud.
Anyways, our visit was to go see The Sister and we had so much fun together. It was a beautiful weekend in NC and The Girls got to play outside as well as spend some quality time with their Aunt. Of course I loved spending quality time with my sister after the girls went to bed;)
The fun part is that The Sister lives in an older home too, I believe that her house just celebrated its 100th birthday. This is the first time I was down at The Sister's since we have moved into The House and it was kind of fund to take a look at other characteristics of older homes and see what people have done with them. Another fun outing was that The Sister has a friend who is looking to buy and older home so they let me tag along on a house tour and I got to see ANOTHER house and look at all the fun details. Who knows, maybe I will become that weird lady that drives around and goes to all the Open Houses on Sundays?
So it was a great weekend and I had a great visit, but it was so great to be home! Most important, it was great too see The Husband whom I had not seen in five days, but it was also great to be back in our house. I know I have said this more than once but I am so pleasantly surprised by how quickly this had become our HOME and how much I love this house - warped floors and all!
