Daffodils
and
Japanese Magnolias
I have kept a gardening journal for over 10 years now.
My notes span two different gardens. Some of the flowers
are passalong - ones that were given to me and ones
that were carried away with us when we moved.
Daffodils are not only passalongs and carried away
in my garden, but some are from the previous owners
and others are rescued from an old plantation site
that was turned barren - into a granite mine.
I imagine some of these being the grandchildren of
daffodils planted decades before.
Last year I intended to catalog the different varieties
I had. I just didn't know how many different ones there were.
Reading last year's note I decided to carry through with that plan.
I have found so far 11 varieties.
They're marvelous in their differences and in their fragrances.
I had also cut some purple Japanese Magnolias to set on
my desk. They have a wonderful light perfume.
So far, the colors of spring for me are sunny yellow, deep
purple, white and blue (I haven't shared the bluebells yet!)
I wish I knew each daffodil's name - just how many varieties
are possible. Another project I suppose.
Thank you for stopping by,
I am sharing this post with these wonderful garden parties;
Wishing you a very Delightsome day,
