Okay, I know I have admitted to having an issue with fabric and couches. I may have failed to mention my issue with mirrors. Not that I love looking at myself, just love the look of mirrors. My dear friend, Lisa, and I were doing a little thrifting today and I came across this beauty for only $15. I passed it up at first, but I kept coming back to it. Just couldn't leave without it.
Here is it in the spot I thought it would look great. I propped it up, took a few steps back and then remembered the mirror in the foyer, which is only a few steps away. Fearing having to look at myself twice first thing in the morning as I make my way into the kitchen, I quickly decided the mirror had
to go.
I unscrewed the back, removed the mirror, spray painted the whole thing with black chalkboard paint and tied some twine to the back. I have had these pictures from a trip my husband I took to Paris several years ago just sitting around. I was never quite sure what I wanted to do with them. I think this works for now. Since I can write on the frame, I thought I may want to change out the title and pictures often. I could display pictures from family vacations, my kids' birthdays or friends and family. I could even use it to clip up a menu if we are entertaining or a list of chores for my kids or inspirational quotes. The possibilities are endless!
The best part about this project is that it cost $15 (I already had the spray paint and twine) and it took less than half an hour to complete. Have any projects you plan on working on this weekend? I am going to spend the weekend celebrating my son's 7th birthday. I can't believe he's going to be seven. Wow, how times flies!
