new work ::: Memory Centre in French Guiana

Posted by MAKMU ta On Tuesday, March 01, 2011 No comments

Designed by D3 Architects, the Centre de la Memoire des Guyanes (Memory Centre in French Guiana) aims to give a symbol to the natural heritage of the French Overseas Department located in South America and be a place where physical and symbolic elements merge seamlessly. The building is arranged around a central storage core, and wrapped in a series of layers – a double concrete skin housing most of the building's functions and a protecting skin made of slatted balata wood.
