Leaving an Impression
Old Books and White Roses
I sometimes wonder about the past of some of the
treasures that I now hold dear.
I wonder - did their
previous owner cherish them as I do now?
It would be wonderful to lift the curtain of time,
to touch an object, to gaze through a window
and to see from another's eyes.
Do we leave an impression on the things we cherish.
Was an object that is covered with patina once
lovingly polished and displayed?
History is made up of facts, dates and names.
Behind those three and other things - are the
moments in people's lives, the decisions people made,
the relationships people held dear.
I feel I am honoring the memory of these
Delightsome people by taking care of and cherishing
the objects I find and bring home.
Will my impression be left on them for someone else.
I wonder.
Thank you for your visit. I do so appreciate when you stop
by and take a moment to leave me a message.
Wishing you a very Delightsome day,
