The cutest little white fur ball arrived at our house last night. Santa may have a been a few weeks late with my Christmas Wish, but I'll forgive him.
Our family has been searching for a new puppy recently, afterthe loss of our girl Shasta this past summer. My mom found a breed of golden retrievers called English Cream Goldens and she immediately knew that is what we wanted! Each morning over Christmas break, we would be on her iPad searching for breeders who bred English Cream Golden pups to see if we could find one to fit our family. We found a great breeder in Arizona and connected right from the start. We thought we were going to have to wait until February to get a little puppy, but God had other plans! The breeder called us to tell us that the pick of their last litter {and the pup everyone wanted/thought was so cute!} was sadly returned to her because the original owner had a medical problem and couldn't handle a dog at the moment. My mom knew this was our dog, so we gladly claimed the sweet girl. Our family couldn't wait to welcome her home. Here she is with her brother's and sister's at just 6 weeks old:
So without further adieu...
Meet our newest addition, Hope.
She truly represents hope to our family, considering the loss of Shasta was so tough. No one can prepare you for losing an animal you love, but the memories of Shasta and the thought of getting a new puppy is what got us through. My mom is going to train Hope to be a pet therapy dog, in order to go into hospitals, care centers and old folks' homes. Animals, especially beautiful dogs, can bring so much joy {and hope!} to the patients.
I can't wait to go home to California next weekend to meet Hope! She already told me via Skype that her favorite color is lavender, so I'm sure we'll hit it off :)
We happen to think our little girl is the cutest pup we've ever seen and we're SO blessed to have her!
Have a wonderful Monday filled with lots of joy!
Love,
