I went to the most amazing open house today with amazing Zen gardens. I was the only one who even bothered to go outside. I was in heaven wandering around soaking up the beauty. I got some good sun rays beaming down on a faux bois bench.
The reflecting pool full of colorful koi was lovely too. I'll share more photos later. I had such a nice day and a productive one too. I think that cool crisp air gave me a jolt of energy and the gardens were good for my spirit.

I was quite happy yesterday working in the field at a septic inspection. I find that if I wear my contractor clothes I get a much better job from the hired workers. I'm happiest in this kind of clothing too. You have to wear many hats shoes in this life and thankfully I am experienced in almost all aspects of home building and maintenance. My weakness is housework. This photo is my actual foot at the end of the day yesterday. It's too much trouble to take them off each time I walk in the door so I leave little clods of mud all over the house. I am my own worst enemy :>)

It will be a while before I can take another picture showing spring blooms and foliage. In the meantime, here is the other view I have showing more of the cottage. Be patient and I'll make every effort to go back and take more pictures.

As usual, I like the estate cottage better than the mansion. I didn't get any closer because my group was in a hurry. Next time, I'll go alone and see what it's like inside. It will be spectacular later on when things are in bloom. I took this iPhone photo just as it was starting to rain a few weeks ago.

I took these photos yesterday at an open house and it seems like 10 years ago so much has happened since. You don't want to know the details which are mostly paperwork related. Anyway I took these on the fly and they aren't very good. The sheep is huge and adorable and she's in a paddock next to the last horse. The two horses are opposite each other so they can chat if that's what they do when no one is looking. It's raining here at the cottage today and I might start a fire when I'm sure I won't have to go out again. I have to go to the office in a little while. See you later.

As seen in a remodeled circa 1908 home nearby. I'm so glad they kept this cozy nook with a fireplace in the living room. What a great place for guests to sit and warm up upon arrival on a winter visit just the way they did when this home was built before central heating was perfected.

A bad house fire destroyed a very old cottage on a nearby estate a couple of years ago. Everyone is in love with this new replacement. The standing seam metal roof is nice. There is a garage to the left but there was a car in the driveway that I didn't want in my photograph. It's bigger than it looks. One day I'll snap a side view.
Now you know this is so much better than going to the mall, right? There is a complex of small cottage shops nearby painted in off the wall colors.
I've been meaning to stop and photograph them and today I did!

"I promise not to make the lady sick."
I had a really good turnout at an open house I hosted today. I was doing it alone in an empty house so I decided at the last minute to take Webster along. It turned out to be a genius idea. He was Mr. Meet and Greet and [almost] everybody loved him. One lady said she was allergic so I put Webster on the sunporch. He did everything imaginable to keep this from happening. He made himself small and put on his dog brakes. He was in there for 10 minutes at most out of a 3 hour stint. He licked babies, played with little boys, kissed men and women both young and old. He was a great ice breaker too. From now on, he's my new assistant. He is exhausted from all the excitement and has already gone to bed after his early dinner.
