Íslensk hönnun (Icelandic Design)

Posted by MAKMU ta On Tuesday, August 17, 2010

You all seemed to like my Hotel Reykjavík 101 post, so I thought I'd begin working on a guide to Reykjavík with all the things not to miss that may not be in the normal guide books, so watch this space!

In the meanwhile here are some of my favourite pieces of Icelandic Design of which I have a few myself...

I love these hanging dolls by  Maja Ólafsdóttir (and you can mine hanging in the picture below), available from Galleri Thórs

The virtue blanket by Mary (Olof Maria Olafsdottir) is on my wishlist...get it at Birkiland

I love, love, love the tree by Michael Young, Katrin Olina Petursdottir, but too many people that I know have it!

A picture from my hallway in my apartment, these words translate into "God bless the home" the design is by Ólöf Jakobína Ernudóttir and it is available to buy in Epal
