J'adore...

Posted by MAKMU ta On Friday, March 02, 2012

Just found this flat via Husligheter and had to show you... Two smaller flats in bad condition became one great duplex flat of 106m2 in Norrköping, Sweden. The style is a personal mix of modern design and thrifted things in a colour scheme of white/black/wood with splashes of bold colours. Right up my alley!

Vintage industriel minimaliste

Posted by MAKMU ta On Tuesday, November 29, 2011

This home first caught my eye simply because it's situated in Falun in Sweden, the town where I spent a large part of my childhood :) . Susanne loves old things with history, and has decorated her home in a style that I would describe as minimalistic industrial vintage in black&white, with a few yellow touches and some IKEA.

Une déco tout à fait personnelle

Posted by MAKMU ta On Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Take a lovely flat from the 20's with some original details still intact (like flooring and kitchen cabinets...), add furniture and items from the local fleamarkets, sprinkle it all with a few nice designer pieces by Eames, Panton, Jieldé etc, and finally, turn the walls into an art gallery by mixing drawings, photos, posters, paintings... and voilà, you have a colourful and very personnally decorated home like this one!

More Vintage & Shabby Chic Apartment Decor

Posted by MAKMU ta On Sunday, August 28, 2011

I take no prisoners when it comes to decor ideas I love. I want to have implemented them all, like, yesterday! One idea I love is to arrange the clutter and collections people have and display them in a way that does not interfere in everyday life like this fantastic mirror display above.

Ever lived in a studio apartment? Hard isn't it? I lived in one with my daughter until she was 13 months old - it didn't look like this one, nowhere near! Basically this is one room living designed and decorated to perfection. Plenty of windows and light help!

Having looked around recently I am getting a vibe for vertical striped walls. There are papers like this everywhere at the moment. I am not usually a wallpaper fan but I could be converted!

I chose this last photo because it reminds me of my current flat. Two large windows in the very tall living room, neutral colours and natural woods and not exactly very tidy! My home suffers from clutter burnout and it's now one of the battles I am addressing in exactly how to turn all those extra objects into focus pieces.
