I have looked and looked at this photo and I cannot figure out how they got the clothes on the line. I don't see a pulley system; just stretched lines. It looks all but impossible to me. I have a couple of loads of wash I hope to be able to hang outside tomorrow. We have a cloudless sky today so I think I'll be okay.

This made me laugh. The shadows are much more graphic than the laundry hanging in the courtyard.

I am glad to see someone else thinks it's never to cold to hang out the clothes. By Alec Soth, Sleeping by the Mississippi. Peter’s Houseboat, Winona Minnesota 2002We are still having unusually mild weather and I have already put in my first load. Monday is the traditional laundry day after all.

My day so far.
Webster and I hung out two loads of clothes today. It was very mild with temperatures in the mid 60s.
I always hang the wicker laundry basket on a piece of rough bark sticking out of this tree.
These ugly apples from a friend's orchard are the most delicious I have ever tasted. We picked all we could reach with our long apple picker on Saturday.
The sun was shining brightly on these leaves and they almost looked as if they were on fire.

I am so behind in my laundry. It's on my list of things to do tomorrow. I think I'll be able to hang them outside too. This would be the next best thing if I had an Aga range. Don't you love this homey scene? via
