The texture of cement is so fantastic when it is natural or with a smooth finish and a small amount of nuetural color. The color is truly an artistic endeavor. I am using a custom made cement counter and molded sink in an upcoming project and I am so excited to see how they turn out. The finishes had the smallest differences and I really loved them all.
These walls are so amazing with the natural light in this picture.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Maybe this weekend I will have a little time to take some photos of my treasures from the last few weeks of shopping.

Black knit dress: Nordstrom (2 years ago!)Striped sweater: Meadow BoutiqueCable knit leggings: Meadow BoutiqueBelt: TargetBoots: Steve MaddenHair: Spiral Waves Tutorial
Well, it certainly ain't fancy Oscar attire, but stripes and coral are two of my favorite things! When I found this sweater last week at Meadow {and there was one left in my size. Fate, I tell you. Fate.}, I knew it needed me. Or I needed it...whichever ;) I layered the striped sweater over a simple long sleeved, black, knit dress. A belt polished it off and added definition. My favorite part about the outfit is that it's super warm and cozy, while still colorful and stylish. The cold weather really gets me up here in Seattle, so I'm a happy gal when I can put together looks that are practical without sacrificing the cute factor. Let's face it, your day has a way higher chance of being terrific if you're feeling terrific. That's my life moto :)
Are you loving stripes just as much as me lately?I'm really excited about what's going on here at the blog this week. I have a fun announcement tomorrow, a DIY project coming Thursday, and a giveaway on Friday {hint: my favorite home store}. There should be something for everyone!Happy Monday...Love,
PS. All the beautiful photos were taken and edited by Victoria Carlson Photography. I can't say enough great things about her and her fab work:)
For the rest of you, don't forget Karen from SIMPLY PILLOW is extending a 10% code for all my readers at checkout! Code: FEB10 10% off sale ends February 29th. Happy Shopping :)

I was just remembering a wonderful garden that I visited in Portugal a few years back. Day dreaming about it really. It was the most amazing place that I think I have ever been to. These are just a few pictures of the many many structures that made up the space. It was something that we just happened upon after lunch one day. Our waiter at lunch recommended that we go by and see it and we spent much of the afternoon exploring the huge terraced grounds and taking photos.
It reminds me of the coming of Spring and inspires me to get outside and make some changes!

Lately I have been thinking about interiors (big surprise there) and interior photography. I was looking through
Ashlee Raubach's blog and saw this picture.. which I love. Ashlee took our family pictures last fall and she was amazing! I cannot wait to have her photograph some of my work and my home when I get ready. The light in this picture makes my heart race and that table makes me want to scream I love it so much. I love the way she uses the light in the space and the softness that comes across in the photos.
Anyway, I am curious have you had interior photographs taken? What do you think of different styles?

We added this prize winning Charolais calf to the photo gallery in our living room.
A professional photographer I am NOT, but I enjoy printing and framing photographs I have taken of our family and interests including the huge
barn photo in our living room and the
barn photos in our kitchen. It is not expensive original art, but I love the look and personality they give to our home. I had an 8" x 10" print made from the photo I took of my son's
4-H calf project at the Royal and added it to
this photo gallery in the living room that is STILL a work in progress. With Christmas, work, and family I realize that this gallery is not going to be finished before Christmas, but I can live with that. We don't go back to school and work after the holidays until January 9th so that will give me some time to devote to it then, and save me stress worrying about it now. That's how I roll.

These photos of the print aren't as good as the in-real-life print which shows the beautiful old barnboard of the Royal Winter Fair barn stalls. But then, the in-real-life print doesn't do justice to the real live calf either. She is a prize winning beauty and we are thankful to our friends, her owners, who allowed our son to show her this past year.
I hope you are having a great weekend! I'm sharing this with...
