Very sadly, we lost another crabapple tree in front of our house. Pruning wasn't possible anymore because ant colonies destroyed the inner core of the tree.We loved the beautiful flowers in the spring. Birds built their nests in the tree and raised their young.
If a tree dies, plant another in its place.

Next spring we shall plant two new trees replacing the old apple trees with native Serviceberry trees.
Serviceberry is one of North America's amazing small-sized native trees. It's four-season gorgeous, great for wildlife, and hardy as can be. The Latin species name is Amellanchier. There are several varieties whose regional names include shadbush, shadblow, bilberry, Saskatoon, Juneberry, and Indian pear.
The berries are very beneficial for wildlife and me:)

Es ist sehr traurig, aber wir haben einen weiteren Crabapple (Malus) Baum vor unserem Haus verloren. Zurück zuschneiden war unmöglich, weil Ameisenkolonien den inneren Kern des Baumes zerstört haben.Wir liebten die schönen Blüten im Frühling. Vögel bauten ihre Nester im Baum und zogen ihre Jungen groß.
Wenn ein Baum stirbt, pflanze einen anderen in seinen Platz, - Linnaeus.
Im Frühling wir werden zwei neue Bäume pflanzen und die alten Apfelbäume mit einheimischen Felsenbirnen Bäumen ersetzten. Felsenbirne ist ein kleiner einheimischer Bäume in Nordamerikas. Es ist ein Vier-Jahreszeiten Baum, sehr widerständig und gut für die Natur. Der lateinische Name ist Amellanchier.
Besitzt weisse Blüten und die Beeren sind sehr gesund und essbar.
