I hate to get off the topic of home improvement and decorating, but I feel it's my duty to pay the Kentucky Wildcats some respect and blog about them today! I had another post all ready to go, in the unfortunate event that the Cats didn't pull off the win. But lucky for all Wildcat fans, that post will have to wait until Tuesday.
As a University of Kentucky alum, I take great pride in the Wildcats and their amazing victory over North Carolina (oh, and let's not forget Ohio State - sorry Welsch family). I remember when we won the National Championship in 1996 and 1998 like it was yesterday. Not to age myself, but I was a junior in college in '96 and it was one of the highlights of my college experience. Sorry, I digress.
Since we watched the Friday night game v. Ohio State at my brother and sister in-law's house, and we won, we must not mess with the formula. We were back there again for today's game.
I put tattoos on all the kids to get them in the spirit.
My son and my sweet niece very intently watching the game.
The victory celebration.
These lovely cupcakes were my contribution to the game watching party. I'd love to tell you my third grader decorated these, but no, that would be me. A pastry chef I am not!
They say UK in case you were wondering.
And of course, a victory beer!
We will all be back there next Saturday night to cheer on our team. It's been 13 years since the Wildcats won a National Championship. I think it's about time!
