Charmed by Flowers
"A flowerless room is a soulless room, to my way of thinking;
but even one solitary little vase of a living flower may redeem
it."
but even one solitary little vase of a living flower may redeem
it."
Vita Sackville West
This quote has captured my heart and my imagination.
I do try to put fresh flowers in as many rooms as possible. Today I have a few to
share.
I am so very fond of the La Marne rose -
these are from a very old shrub that is located
alongside our front porch. This rose will bloom from March until November. I
love the soft - almost antique looking color.
I adore Roses and Peonies - these David Austin Roses are doing exceptionally
well and their beauty is only enhanced by pairing them with these Peonies.
These deep pink roses were given to me by my friend - some are very, very thorny -
but, I had to try to bring them indoors. I think I have a few thorns still in my
fingers!
I refreshed this arrangement on my kitchen peninsula. I love the fragrance of the
Mock Orange and its beauty alongside the Yellow Iris. We have so many of
these - another gift from the same friend. When she gets tired of some flowers or
changes her mind, I am always ready to adopt.
I set a large free-flowing arrangement of Yellow Iris and Mock Orange on our
dining room table. This is the room you enter the house - The fragrance will be a
welcoming greeting.
If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring
bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom. ~Terri Guillemets
I am sharing this post with these wonderful blog parties
Favorite Things Saturday
I hope you are having a wonderful, Delightsome day,
Thank you so very much for your visit.
Oh, and by the way - I shared with some that I have become quite fond
of this soft method of taking pictures!
I will try not to over do it!
