Hi, all! Hope your Easter weekend was wonderful! If you missed the picture on yesterday's Easter post, it's almost worth it to look now(:
Today I'm sharing my latest Perspective Drawing class project with y'all {Oh yeah, I started saying y'all over on Megan's blog(: } Our assignment is to draw our dream room in perspective. Sound easy? It's not! But it sure is fun. And hey, I'd rather spend 3 hours drawing than studying for a chemistry exam. Fall quarter I took a floor plan drafting class and loved it. We learned how to draft elevations and plans, and my favorite elevation was of my kitchen, so for this perspective project I knew I wanted to do a kitchen. Here are my two inspiration images. You may be confused since one isn't a kitchen, but I'll explain below!
Any ideas of how I'm combining these two lovely photos??
Here's the scoop:
I loved the idea of the loft above a room, so above the kitchen, I'm adding a loft-catwalk-looking-thing to add some interest and depth. Here's my floor plan and elevation so far:
An elevation is just a flat drawing of one wall of the room. My elevation is the North wall in the above floor plan.
The store fireplace doubles as a pizza oven. It was my favorite feature of the inspiration room, so I knew it was staying. Note to self: pizza kitchen is on my wish list for my future home (:
Hope you enjoyed a tiny look into my school work! Suggestions are always welcome. Next up is actually drawing it in perspective.
Hope you have a wonderful Monday! I'm off to kick a Textile midterm {the day after Easter, really?!} in the booty!
Love and Drawing,
