Transforming Garden Furniture
I have had this table and chair set for quite some years. The funny thing was, I bought it on sale - with only three chairs - I have yet to find a fourth!
I also purchased this two-seated sliding settee.
They are the usual deep green color you often see.
This has worked fine for years. However, I have been really wanting to clean them up and to change their color. Since we recently painted our house a deep grey, I have considered silver, blue, purple, bronze, and pink.
They didn't seem to be exactly what I wanted. Our trim will be a creamy white - I wanted the furniture to accent the house's color.
So, I saw Carolyn's lovely picture (Aiken House and Garden blog) with her sitting in a gorgeous white garden chair -
White!
That's the color!
Last week, I found a cart at a store filled with cans of white spray paint - for $1 each. Serendipity?
Now, this color can not only complement our home's color, but can be the backdrop to my garden dining and decorations.
One of my friends gave me several yards of this summery fabric. I slipcovered the cushions I already had - they'd faded and had some stains that I couldn't remove. I like the bright, cheerful appearance now!
