Our Cascading Roses
and
Our Secret Garden
In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.
~Abram L. Urban
This past weekend my husband and I spent several hours cleaning the sidewalk flower in front of our house. A previous owner had planted these enchanting roses to cascade over the wall as well as Mexican Sage, Yellow Lantana and two Rosemary bushes.

Last fall I cut back the Rosemary Bushes, they must have liked it, they bloomed earlier this spring for quite a long time.
I just adore these roses. They're petite, but plenteous! I had to cutback some of them from the sidewalk side so that they wouldn't grab anyone passing by.
I love the pink and red together - to me they are quite striking.
From street level you cannot see the garden in our front yard.

One of our neighbors who had come by while our house was on a tour
and noted that she did not know we had flower garden in the front yard.

It is nice to be a house on a hill with a bit of privacy - our own
