Well, after three days of a high fever and two days of hives - The Oldest finally made it off to First Grade today:) I have to admit that I was extremely worried because she had missed the first three days at a brand new school. I mean, think about all of the routines that are established in those first three days - but she did great. She happily skipped onto the bus and I only cried a little when she turned to wave at me from her seat.
Her principal met her at her bus to show her how to get to her classroom (love this principal) and I guess when they got to the end of the hallway where the classroom was, The Oldest turned to the principal and told her that she knew where to go and didn't need her to walk with her anymore. I love that confidence.
So, she is home now. She got off the bus hungry and exhausted but two banana muffins and a 1/2 of of TV later I am happy to say that she successfully made it through her first day of First Grade.
On a side note, I am well aware of the fact that she is wearing the same outfit at in Friday's post. This is her "first day of school" outfit and until I found her covered in hives we were planning on having her go to school on Friday, hence, the double up of the outfit. Yes - I did wash it between wearings:)
