Roses and Lace
I had opportunity a week back to
Stop by my favorite Goodwill.
I go straight to the home décor section
And found this lovely decorative egg.
Strolling along the aisle I also
Found this sweet little apothecary jar.
And finally, I found this lacy neck roll pillow!
I was glowing with joy when I left the store!
The roses I bought a couple of weeks back
Never fully opened, but began to dry prettily.
I snipped the buds and put them into the
Apothecary jar.
I set them on a table at the upstairs landing
This morning – to catch the rising sun through
The window.
The light and lacy shadows cast a lovely
Glow on my new found treasures.
The neck pillow will go in the Blue room
Next to the teddy bear – a tribute to my
Brother – he was created by my sister
Out of one of his shirts.
The rose-filled apothecary jar and the
Rosy egg are going on the shelf in our
Hall bath.
This shelf must have been attached
To a wall at one time – it stands behind our
Tub where an old doorway is now partially covered.
We discovered that a previous
Owner had covered over the door.
The frame was visible and I thought
There was empty space behind.
So we removed the drywall to
Find the old door.
I love its chippy paint look.
