Lilies in the Mist
We see the beginning of the changes in the season.
The sun is traveling lower in the southern horizon – rising later and setting earlier.
The shadows are lengthening.
There’s a slight chill in the morning air.
Each year we look for the signs of the coming season.
One of summer's late-blooming flowers here is the
statuesque white Lily.

Her blooms fall gracefully from their lofty height.
I was struck by a sense of déjà-vu when I looked
out the window to see the newly opened
blossoms – to find them shrouded in a
light fog following an evening’s rain.

This has happened before.
I searched my photographs to find
that this time last year – when these lilies
were in bloom – a fog had settled in and around

our garden giving the Lily’s appearance an
ethereal look.
comforting in knowing that time and seasons come about
as they have for ages past and ages to come.
He places reminders for us everywhere.
I am reassured – no matter what occurs in this world
God has placed things in motion and what is to be
Am I doing what I am supposed to at this appointed time.
My heart tells me yes. And my heart tells me to
Trust in God completely – no matter what.
