This Time Last Year

Lilies in the Mist

We see the beginning of the changes in the season.

The sun is traveling lower in the southern horizon – rising later and setting earlier.

The shadows are lengthening.

There’s a slight chill in the morning air.

Each year we look for the signs of the coming season.

One of summer's late-blooming flowers here is the

statuesque white Lily.

Our Lilies 2010
Her blooms fall gracefully from their lofty height.

I was struck by a sense of déjà-vu when I looked

out the window to see the newly opened

blossoms – to find them shrouded in a

light fog following an evening’s rain.

Our Lilies 2011

This has happened before.

I searched my photographs to find

that this time last year – when these lilies

were in bloom – a fog had settled in and around

2010
our garden giving the Lily’s appearance an

ethereal look.

I was enchanted by this occurrence.

2011

There’s something

comforting in knowing that time and seasons come about

as they have for ages past and ages to come.

2011
God told us there is a time and a season for everything.

He places reminders for us everywhere.

I am reassured – no matter what occurs in this world

God has placed things in motion and what is to be

will occur in its own time and season.

2011
Am I doing what I am supposed to at this appointed time.

My heart tells me yes. And my heart tells me to

Trust in God completely – no matter what.

2011
I am thankful for the Lilies in the Mist that served

to comfort and to remind me.

All things do work together for good.
