A Cup of Tea
A Good Book
And A
Nap
We are experiencing the aftermath of Tropical Depression Lee. The sky is a cool, silvery grey with occasional gusts of wind. The air is blissfully cool. A seeming precursor of Autumn.
A perfect day to curl up with a cup of tea, a good book and take a nap.
I have chosen a combination of mint and acai-blueberry tea in my pretty, rosy chintz teacup I won from Tricia a while back. It is so lovely to enjoy tea in a pretty teacup.
For inspiration I chose to flip through one of my favorite author’s books, A Passion For Flowers by Carolyn Roehme.
I own a few of her books and plan to add her other books to my collection.
“More than anything I must have flowers, always, always”
Claude Monet
The inside bookcover describes A Passion For Flowers:
“Fashion Designer Carolyn Roehme has always relied on color, composition, texture and style to create her collections. Now in A Passion For Flowers, she applies these same principles to flower arranging.
The book spans the four seasons and holidays in suggested flower arrangements. Quite inspiring and quite charming.
After enjoying reading here and there in Carolyn’s book, I feel the need for a nap. We had a long, fun-filled holiday weekend and I think a nap is perfect for such an afternoon as this.
I set my alarm to 20 minutes. I usually try to take a nap between 15 and 20 minutes. To me this is just enough time to knock off the heaviness of sleepiness and not too much to make one drag the rest of the afternoon.
Do you occasionally enjoy a nap?
I have come to appreciate naps as refreshing and restorative – like a lovely cup of tea.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day today –
