Flowering sugar maple tree (Acer saccharum)

Sugar maple tree provides very interesting flowers -

leaves for shade in the summer -
seeds for new trees -
colourful leaves for my new fall wreath and
sugar syrup, Canada's sweetest sauce.

Acer saccharum (Sugar Maple)
Valued for its syrup, wood and beautiful fall colours,
sugar maple is one of the most important trees in
Ontario and Canada. It is also known as hard maple.
Sugar maple was designated as Canada’s
national tree in 1965. The maple leaf
adorns the Canadian Flag.

Der Zucker-Ahorn (kanadischer Ahorn) 
ist ein sehr wichtiger Baum in Ontario und Kanada.
Sehr geschätzt für die Gewinnung von Ahornsirup, Holz 
und die Herbstfärbung der Blätter.
Das Ahornblatt ist das Symbol auf der 
kanadischen Flagge seit 1965.
