I laughed out loud, really.
I have been creating votives, candy dishes and cake plates of late with plates,
I even made a bird feeder out of teacups and a metal sconce.
Some of the projects didn’t work out and hindsight is everything,
I should have written down which glue I tried.
Do you really think any glue is permanent?
So, this is not a conclusive, I have found the right one yet.
This is a – for the time being – this has worked.
I had put together this plate and this dessert cup to make a cake plate – loved the ruffly edges to this plate – it had broken and I have kept it to fix and to use some day.
As a cake plate it looks sweet. The first glue I tried didn’t hold. Then my husband suggested a glue he had – hardware store stuff – Liquid Nails.
I said – it has to be clear when it dries!
It will, he insisted.
So I tried it.
So far so good. I tried it with this plate and candleholder – I found the candle holder at a thrift store and the plate at The Christmas Tree Store.
I have had success with E6000 and have read others have had success
with DAP-Household, Waterproof, Adhesive Sealant! What a name!
Well, back to my laughing out loud. I googled , “adhesives best for glass craft”
I found a site with a chart –
there are way too many glues out there ladies and gents!
