The Romantic Heart

Inthe midst of winter Victoria Magazine 
has shared our romantic sentiments. 

During themonth of February, in tributes to beauty and romance Victoria Magazine editorsshare with us Valentines, roses, lace, weddings, beautiful décor, delicious recipes – chocolate,poetry, as well as people and places that transport us in tributes to beautyand romance. 

On thischilly, rain-filled Monday, I enjoy a 
comforting cup of tea and dream of spring 
and of summer – of roses – of lunches 
in the garden, of  relaxing in the hammock
 beneath leafybowers.

I dreamof romantic changes and touches 
I plan to add to the rooms in our home.

I dreamof picking fresh fruit and vegetables.

And Idream of people and places I’d love to meet and to visit.

Sentimental– romantic – definitely a sense one is given while 
perusing through the pagesof Victoria magazine’s February issues. 

I amenchanted by the lovely gilded rose dessert set I found at the

flea marketlast week. The maker’s mark has a crown with the words

RoyalCrown below. I haven’t been able to identify this – whether it is new orvintage. But, I am completely delighted by the delicate design.

WhileI enjoy the tea and treats, I note that several of the February VictoriaMagazine covers are collages of Valentine ephemera created by Cynthia Hart. Hercreative work can be seen on the 1992-1996 Victoria magazine covers.

It isthose things shared in the February Victoria magazine issues that touch 
our romantic heart  causing us to dream of rose filled gardens, lacy touches, 
theromance of Valentines and more that draw our hearts – 
that connect us asKindred Spirits.

On the top right-hand  corner of my desk in the kitchen I have a small vignette I can look at each morning.

I love the beauty and the artistry of teacups.

I will have one sitting ready -

to enjoy its beauty 

and to be available for

calming and soothing tea.

I also have a frame to which

I have placed my 

Toujours

statement that I have on the sidebar 

of my blog. I have received several comments regarding this statement.

I am so grateful for your kindness and

support.

We do have a wonderfully giving community.

I do want to strive to do my best in all that I do and if I have encouraged you in any

way I am most glad.

God has blessed me so much in my life, 

I hope to emulate the love I have come to

know and to cherish as I spend a few moments with you when you come by to 

visit.

I am fascinated by the history to the first

statement I shared with you today,

"Keep Calm and Carry On". Under incredible

conditions a nation carried on to inspire a world.

This statement was posted as a reminder to English citizens

Pink Rose Tea

A Garden Respite

I had a very good day today. 

I had lunch with a friend, walked through a couple

antique stores and a Goodwill. 

I found this lovely teacup and I knew it would be perfect for

an afternoon's respite.

The weather has finally cooled a bit and it is most enjoyable

to sit out and to hear the birds and see the lovely garden.

I stopped by the grocery store and was delighted to find

these little roses in shades of cream and pink. 

A girl can treat herself to a few roses now and then.

I chose my Chintz flower basket to place them in.

I love its color and shape.

I also picked up these sweet petit-fours at the bakery.

My new teacup, a bouquet of pink roses,

a light sweet treat. 

Now I am ready to close the day with a lovely

Pink Rose Garden Tea respite.
