Spring is here and with it are the very many gardening chores.
Perhaps you are like me, you look for the best
products to assist you in making your garden shine each year.
One of the most important things you can do to help your
plants to thrive is to provide it a good home – great soil is essential.
So, when I read that  Expand ‘n Gro™  Advertisement could produce 3X the flowers and vegetables I was intrigued. I have had great success with other Miracle Gro products and I wanted to learn more.

A few weeks ago I shared with you my fondness for Container Gardening and I have five stone planters on my front porch that get full-sun exposure. I need to amend the soil annually. According to Miracle Gro – Expand ‘n Gro can get my plants big and beautiful – whether in the ground or in pots! I am looking forward to seeing it work! I need to try this so my plants could be what I dream of – luscious and beautiful.

-Up to 3X the flower and vegetables verses native soil
-significantly improve soil for multiple years
-concentrated planting mix expands up to 3X when water is added
-feeds plants for up to 6 months
-all natural fibers hold up to 50% more water than basic potting soil

What is different about Miracle-Gro Exand ‘N Gro? This soil is different because it is a unique blend of Miracle-Gro plant food and coconut coir fiber, a compact, lightweight, easy-to-carry and easy-to-store bag of Expand ‘n Gro can do everything a big, heavy bag of soil can do, only better.

Wow! I have hauled large bags of potting soil and welcome the opportunity
to find a lighter version that can perform similar to what I have used before!
This concentrated planting mix expands up to 3 times when mixed with water, feeds plants up to 6 months, makes native soil more workable and retains up to 50% more moisture than basic potting soil.
I have areas in my garden that require a lot of amendment – the potential benefits of this product could have long-lasting effects creating what I would wish – a better, healthier soil environment for my plants.
What is Coir?
'Coir is a lightweight, all-natural material derived from coconut husk. Coir consists of 2 components: fiber (both long and short) and pith. Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, and Mexico are the top producing countries of coir. Harvesting coconuts begins with de-husking. The copra (flesh) and milk of the coconuts are used as food, but the husk itself is also useful. First, long fibers are removed. These will be used in the manufacture of rpoes, doormats, mattresses, automobile car seats, and garden pots. The remaining short fibers and the pith, which makes up about 70% of the weight of the husk, are by-products of the fiber industry. Previously these materials were disposed of, but now they are compressed and sold around the world as soil amendments.
Fascinating!
It is the coir added to Miracle-Gro Expand ‘N Gro Planting Mix +an effective soil amendment. As you know you can haul bag after bag of potting mix and soil amendments to create a more healthier soil for your garden. Imagine the possibilities of using a product that is light-weight and compact that expands to create an environment in your soil that enables your plants to get the right amount of moisture and air! Tilling this plant mix into native soil can reduce the soil’s bulk density – making it up to 405 lighter, and creating up to 90% more air space. As a result, your once poor soil becomes more workable with better water-holding ability – an improved environment for your plant’s roots.
Not only does the coir permanently expand to offer benefits to your plants,
but coir also contains a great deal of lignin, a slowly decomposing
organic polymer, providing benefits to your soil for some time to come.

Expand ‘n Gro   Advertisement absorbent coir fibers help insure
that water is used efficiently because it retains up to 50% more moisture
than basic potting soil and releases the water as plants need it

– this helps with over or under-watering!

Intrigued? Worth trying? I think so!!!
Check it out! Try it for yourself!
This could be one of the easiest ways you
could make a difference in your spring and summer garden.
