Spring flowers ...Frühlingsblumen... Primeln - Primoses

After a vacation in the sun I love to buy some spring flowers for our house.

Colourful primroses are for sale in many shops and they look very lovely.

The flowers lift my spirit and let me forget that

the garden is still covered with snow and it is very cold -15C.

Not very unusual in our Toronto area in February.

Nach unserem Urlaub in der Sonne, liebe ich es, ein paar Frühlingsblumen für unser Haus zu kaufen.

Primeln werden in vielen Geschäften angeboten, sie sind farbenfroh und sehen sehr schön aus.

Die Blumen erfreuen mich und lassen mich vergessen,

daß unser Garten noch immer mit Schnee bedeckt und es sehr kalt ist - 15C.

Das ist nicht sehr ungewöhnlich für Toronto und das Land Ontario im Februar.

Primula vulgaris (syn. P. acaulis (L.) Hill) is a species of Primula native to all of Europe, Russia and Ukraine, Afrika and Asia as well as Turkey and Iran. The common name is primrose, or occasionally common primrose or English primrose to distinguish it from other Primula species also called primroses.

Die Stängellose Schlüsselblume (Primula vulgaris, Syn.: Primula acaulis (L.) Hill) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Primeln (Primula). Andere Namen für die Art sind Schaftlose Schlüsselblume oder Erd-Primel. Exemplare in Parks und Gärten sind fast immer gepflanzte oder verwilderte Gartensorten sowie Hybriden und werden auch Garten-Primeln genannt. Das ursprüngliche Verbreitungsgebiet umfasst das westliche Europa, auch Nord- und Südeuropa.  Nach Osten hin verläuft das Verbreitungsgebiet durch die südeuropäischen Halbinseln bis in die Krim, nach Syrien, Kleinasien und Armenien. Die Art erreicht Algerien und Marokko und ist damit eine von nur zwei in Afrika heimische Primeln (neben Primula simensis in Äthiopien).
